Cette personne portait deux blessures qui ne se recouvraient pas l&#8217;une l&#8217;autre sans se contredire : petite enfant, elle avait \u00e9t\u00e9 victime d&#8217;abus sexuel ; adolescente, elle s&#8217;\u00e9tait rendue coupable d&#8217;abus sexuels sur des enfants, des fr\u00e8res et soeur. Longtemps, cette personne n&#8217;avait \u00e9t\u00e9, \u00e0 ses yeux comme \u00e0 mon premier regard, qu\u2019une \u00e9tiquette criminelle pos\u00e9e sur la blessure plus ancienne qu&#8217;elle recouvrait sans l&#8217;effacer. Puis, un jour, le Christ en croix m\u2019a visit\u00e9e, aussi meurtri qu\u2019en col\u00e8re. \u00c0 travers ce saisissement inattendu, je compris que cette personne ne devait plus vivre enferm\u00e9e dans aucune des deux blessures : ni dans la victimisation qui l\u2019enfouissait, ni dans les agressions commises qui l\u2019ensevelissaient. Parce qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait d\u2019abord une enfant bien-aim\u00e9e de Dieu, parce qu\u2019elle \u00e9tait d\u00e9j\u00e0 sauv\u00e9e malgr\u00e9 mes efforts et mes inqui\u00e9tudes folles, elle \u00e9tait appel\u00e9e \u00e0 regarder devant, loin devant. Le Christ m\u2019interpellait, sur le bois de sa croix, \u00e0 cesser de lui rappeler qu\u2019elle devait d\u2019abord enterrer ses morts. Le Salut est devant, l\u00e0 tout pr\u00e8s, le Salut c\u2019\u00e9tait Lui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trois hommes, sur la route, en ce jour d&#8217;\u00e9vangile, portent eux aussi des morts qu&#8217;ils voudraient enterrer avant de se mettre en marche. L&#8217;un promet de suivre J\u00e9sus partout \u2014 mais J\u00e9sus lui r\u00e9pond qu&#8217;il n&#8217;a \u00ab nulle part o\u00f9 reposer la t\u00eate \u00bb (Lc 9, 58) : le suivre, c&#8217;est consentir \u00e0 ne plus s&#8217;appuyer sur ce qui rassure. Au deuxi\u00e8me, \u00e0 qui il demande de le suivre, l&#8217;homme r\u00e9clame un d\u00e9lai : le temps d&#8217;enterrer son p\u00e8re. \u00ab Laisse les morts enterrer leurs morts. Toi, pars, et annonce le r\u00e8gne de Dieu \u00bb (Lc 9, 60). Un troisi\u00e8me encore veut d&#8217;abord dire adieu aux siens, et s&#8217;entend r\u00e9pondre que quiconque met la main \u00e0 la charrue et regarde en arri\u00e8re n&#8217;est pas fait pour le royaume de Dieu (Lc 9, 62). Trois fois, la m\u00eame exigence \u2014 non pas l&#8217;oubli de ce qui fut, mais le refus d&#8217;y demeurer enseveli au lieu de marcher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette personne accueillie par moi n&#8217;avait rien \u00e0 prouver non plus, ni son innocence perdue depuis l&#8217;enfance, ni sa culpabilit\u00e9 qu&#8217;elle ne niait pas. Marcher, pour elle, ce n&#8217;\u00e9tait pas fuir ce qu&#8217;elle avait subi ni ce qu&#8217;elle avait fait \u2014 c&#8217;\u00e9tait cesser d&#8217;y chercher, jour apr\u00e8s jour, une identit\u00e9 d\u00e9finitive qui l&#8217;emp\u00eachait d&#8217;avancer. N&#8217;est-ce pas la m\u00eame main que, sur la charrue, il devait consentir \u00e0 ne plus la tenir tourn\u00e9e vers l&#8217;arri\u00e8re ? Car Celui qui appelle ne recule jamais : c&#8217;est le P\u00e8re lui-m\u00eame qui se tient devant, jamais derri\u00e8re, et qui attire \u00e0 lui non pas en effa\u00e7ant ce qui fut, ni en dispensant la r\u00e9paration qu&#8217;il restait \u00e0 faire, mais en promettant qu&#8217;aucune personne n&#8217;est r\u00e9ductible au pire jour de sa vie. Le psaume de ce jour ose crier vers ce P\u00e8re apparemment silencieux \u2014 \u00ab pourquoi caches-tu ta face ? \u00bb (Ps 87) \u2014 et c&#8217;est peut-\u00eatre d\u00e9j\u00e0 une fa\u00e7on de ne pas se retourner : continuer d&#8217;adresser la plainte \u00e0 celui-l\u00e0 m\u00eame dont on ne voit plus le visage, plut\u00f4t que de rebrousser chemin vers un dieu plus commode, ou vers une image de soi divinement plus commode encore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Elle est repartie de ma vie, ce jour-l\u00e0, sans que rien ne soit r\u00e9gl\u00e9 ni oubli\u00e9 \u2014 la r\u00e9paration qu&#8217;elle devait \u00e0 l&#8217;enfant bless\u00e9 restait devant elle, aussi r\u00e9elle que sa propre blessure d&#8217;enfant. Mais quelque chose, dans sa marche, avait chang\u00e9 de direction. Le Royaume ne se gagne pas en r\u00e9glant d&#8217;abord tous ses comptes avec le pass\u00e9 : il s&#8217;ouvre \u00e0 qui accepte de se mettre en route, les mains presque vides, la t\u00eate tourn\u00e9e vers un P\u00e8re qui n&#8217;a besoin d&#8217;aucune \u00e9tiquette pour nous reconna\u00eetre.
