Mais qui est cet homme dont j\u2019entends dire de telles choses ? \u00bb (Lc 9, 7-9)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">En ce temps-l\u00e0,<br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;H\u00e9rode, qui \u00e9tait au pouvoir en Galil\u00e9e,<br>entendit parler de tout ce qui se passait<br>et il ne savait que penser.<br>En effet, certains disaient que Jean le Baptiste<br>\u00e9tait ressuscit\u00e9 d\u2019entre les morts.<br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;D\u2019autres disaient&nbsp;:<br>\u00ab&nbsp;C\u2019est le proph\u00e8te \u00c9lie qui est apparu.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>D\u2019autres encore&nbsp;:<br>\u00ab&nbsp;C\u2019est un proph\u00e8te d\u2019autrefois qui est ressuscit\u00e9.&nbsp;\u00bb<br>&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;Quant \u00e0 H\u00e9rode, il disait&nbsp;:<br>\u00ab&nbsp;Jean, je l\u2019ai fait d\u00e9capiter.<br>Mais qui est cet homme dont j\u2019entends dire de telles choses&nbsp;?&nbsp;\u00bb<br>Et il cherchait \u00e0 le voir.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong>M\u00e9ditation &#8211;<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong> La fermeture de coeur<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Que repr\u00e9sente H\u00e9rode ? H\u00e9rode n\u2019est-ce pas l\u2019\u00e2me qui d\u00e9gringole de d\u00e9sespoir en angoisse en se raccrochant \u00e0 des illusions ? Comme lui, bien souvent, \u00e0 la foi, nous pr\u00e9f\u00e9rons la fr\u00e9n\u00e9sie. Nous d\u00e9laissons l\u2019amour pour le contr\u00f4le. Et alors\u2026 l\u2019esp\u00e9rance se ferme comme une porte qui claque dans un vent glac\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nous abritons tous un H\u00e9rode dans notre \u00e2me. Un petit H\u00e9rode qui sommeille\u2026 ou un gros H\u00e9rode au ventre lourd qui arrondit son oeil cruel. Comment une \u00e2me en vient-elle \u00e0 \u00e9teindre la vie divine ? Comment s\u2019endort-elle dans l\u2019indiff\u00e9rence ? Face \u00e0 l\u2019ass\u00e8chement du coeur, cette page d\u2019\u00e9vangile sonne comme un avertissement.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">H\u00e9rode Antipas II (1), dont il est question ici, r\u00e9pudia sa premi\u00e8re femme (2) pour \u00e9pouser H\u00e9rodiade, qui \u00e9tait sa propre ni\u00e8ce, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire la fille de son demi-fr\u00e8re (3). Cette femme, H\u00e9rodiade, \u00e9tait la petite-fille d&#8217;H\u00e9rode le Grand, p\u00e8re d\u2019H\u00e9rode Antipas II dont nous parlons. H\u00e9rodiade, seconde femme d\u2019H\u00e9rode, \u00e9tait la femme de son demi-fr\u00e8re (4) qu\u2019elle quitta de son vivant, ce qui fit scandale. Jean le Baptiste d\u00e9non\u00e7a publiquement ce remariage incestueux. En r\u00e9ponse, H\u00e9rode Antipas II fit couper la t\u00eate du Baptiste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">H\u00e9rode alla aussi loin que possible dans la manipulation. Mensonge et domination enduisirent son \u00e2me d\u2019une couche si \u00e9paisse qu&#8217;il se rendit \u00e9tanche \u00e0 la gr\u00e2ce. \u00ab&nbsp;H\u00e9rode, qui \u00e9tait au pouvoir en Galil\u00e9e&nbsp;\u00bb contr\u00f4lait son entourage. Pour d\u00e9jouer les complots, il d\u00e9pla\u00e7ait les personnes comme des pions. Sur son \u00e9chiquier, il \u00e9liminait l\u2019un, ou poussait un autre dans les honneurs. Il tordait les lois selon la courbure de ses int\u00e9r\u00eats.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Soudain, un salut \u00e9mergea en Palestine ! Sillonnant les routes, J\u00e9sus manifestait publiquement le don de Dieu. Quelle fut la r\u00e9action d\u2019H\u00e9rode ? \u00ab&nbsp;H\u00e9rode (\u2026) entendit parler de tout ce qui se passait et il ne savait que penser&nbsp;\u00bb. Lorsqu\u2019il qui entendit parler du mouvement des foules soulev\u00e9es par J\u00e9sus, H\u00e9rode prit peur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u00ab&nbsp;Certains disaient que Jean le Baptiste \u00e9tait ressuscit\u00e9 d\u2019entre les morts.&nbsp;\u00bb Voil\u00e0 ce que nous dit cette page d\u2019\u00e9vangile. Comme c\u2019est \u00e9trange ! Pourquoi \u00e9voquer un retour de ce Juste apr\u00e8s sa mort ? Pourquoi H\u00e9rode accordait-il tant de cr\u00e9dit \u00e0 cette rumeur ? Pourquoi reliait-il la venue de J\u00e9sus \u00e0 l\u2019assassinat de Jean Baptiste ? Si H\u00e9rode avait peur, c&#8217;est parce que, selon la mentalit\u00e9 de l&#8217;\u00e9poque, un Juste ex\u00e9cut\u00e9 qui revenait \u00e0 la vie poss\u00e9dait une puissance divine d\u00e9cupl\u00e9e pour accomplir des miracles. \u00ab Le roi H\u00e9rode entendit parler de J\u00e9sus, dont le nom \u00e9tait devenu c\u00e9l\u00e8bre. On disait : &#8220;Jean le Baptiseur est ressuscit\u00e9 d\u2019entre les morts, et c\u2019est pour cela que des forces miraculeuses agissent par lui.&#8221; \u00bb (Mc 6,14). Jean Baptiste ne reviendrait-il pas de la mort pour se venger d\u2019H\u00e9rode ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lorsque la foule commen\u00e7a \u00e0 dire que Jean Baptiste \u00e9tait revenu sous les traits de J\u00e9sus, H\u00e9rode Antipas fut pris d\u2019angoisse : sa mauvaise conscience et sa peur fusionn\u00e8rent dans une parano\u00efa. H\u00e9rode avait ex\u00e9cut\u00e9 Jean par peur d\u2019une r\u00e9volte politique induite par son influence religieuse. Mais, cette \u00e9limination ne lui offrit aucun r\u00e9pit. Car, apr\u00e8s la mort de Jean, le peuple vit dans la d\u00e9faite militaire ult\u00e9rieure d\u2019H\u00e9rode une vengeance de Dieu pour ce meurtre. Flavius Jos\u00e8phe, un historien antique, nous l\u2019apprend : \u00ab&nbsp;Or, il y avait des Juifs pour penser que, si l&#8217;arm\u00e9e d&#8217;H\u00e9rode avait p\u00e9ri, c&#8217;\u00e9tait par la volont\u00e9 divine et en juste vengeance de Jean surnomm\u00e9 Baptiste. En effet, H\u00e9rode l&#8217;avait fait tuer, quoique ce f\u00fbt un homme de bien (\u2026)&nbsp;\u00bb (5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette page d\u2019\u00e9vangile sert de loupe pour voir \u00e0 quel point les passions d\u00e9r\u00e9gl\u00e9es et l\u2019obsession du contr\u00f4le d\u00e9boussolent une vie. Ne nous croyons pas \u00e0 l\u2019abri en disant : \u00ab&nbsp;Dieu, je te rends gr\u00e2ce de ce que je ne suis pas comme le reste des hommes, rapaces, injustes, adult\u00e8res&nbsp;\u00bb (Lc 18,11), car, sous l\u2019habit du pharisien, ne serait-ce pas un petit H\u00e9rode qui risquerait de parler ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Demandons \u00e0 l\u2019Esprit de nous \u00e9clairer\u2026 \u00ab&nbsp;La lumi\u00e8re de l&#8217;Esprit nous invite \u00e0 d\u00e9couvrir que l&#8217;envie et la violence, la volont\u00e9 de puissance et le besoin de se suffire sont, chez les fils d&#8217;Adam, une mer \u00ab&nbsp;harcel\u00e9e par les vagues&nbsp;\u00bb (Mt 14,24), un gouffre pr\u00eat \u00e0 les engloutir. Se vouloir au-dessus des autres, ressentir du d\u00e9pit quand un proche r\u00e9ussit dans ses entreprises, du plaisir quand il \u00e9choue, ne jamais dire merci, refuser de d\u00e9pendre en toutes choses de la bienveillance du P\u00e8re (Mt 11,27), c&#8217;est l&#8217;\u0153uvre du \u00ab&nbsp;p\u00e9ch\u00e9 qui habite en nous&nbsp;\u00bb (Rm 7,20), l&#8217;\u0153uvre mortif\u00e8re d&#8217;une voix de mensonge qui ne fait miroiter que des mirages.&nbsp;\u00bb (6)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le grain qui tombe se durcit pour r\u00e9sister \u00e0 l\u2019eau de la gr\u00e2ce et \u00e0 la possibilit\u00e9 de fructifier qu\u2019offre la terre ! Osons regarder le petit H\u00e9rode que nous h\u00e9bergeons comme un fr\u00e8re qui demande \u00e0 \u00eatre \u00e9cout\u00e9 et aim\u00e9.
