Toutefois, le mot \u00abaimer\u00bb est tr\u00e8s souvent utilis\u00e9 dans des situations o\u00f9 il n&#8217;a rien \u00e0 voir avec l&#8217;amour. Il camoufle parfois l&#8217;approche utilitariste, dans laquelle l&#8217;autre personne devient simplement un moyen pour atteindre un but. Le but peut \u00eatre le plaisir, la jouissance, la recherche du sens de sa propre vie, l&#8217;\u00e9vasion de la solitude, le d\u00e9sir de fuir de ses propres blessures d&#8217;enfance\u2026 Nous ne regardons pas tant l&#8217;autre personne qu&#8217;\u00e0 travers notre propre besoin, de notre propre espoir, de notre propre peur de la solitude, de notre propre faim d&#8217;enfant pour que quelqu&#8217;un vienne enfin et explique que tout cela n&#8217;est pas en vain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans cette approche, l&#8217;accent sera toujours mis sur nous-m\u00eame, sur nos propres objectifs et lorsque l\u2019autre ne nous satisfait plus, il va \u00eatre chang\u00e9 pour un autre moyen. Il arrive la rupture qui cause tant de souffrance.&nbsp; \u00abL&#8217;amour est pass\u00e9, &#8211; disent les uns. &#8211; Cette personne n&#8217;\u00e9tait pas faite pour moi, il faut trouver une autre personne qui me comprendra mieux, qui satisfera tous mes besoins&#8230;&nbsp;\u00bb \u00ab&nbsp;L\u2019amour vrai n\u2019existe pas&nbsp;\u00bb &#8211; disent les autres, \u00e9puis\u00e9s par des recherches constantes qui se terminent par un \u00e9chec.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c7a prend l\u2019humilit\u00e9 pour admettre que ce que nous appelions amour \u00e9tait parfois juste un transfert subtilement organis\u00e9 de quelque chose de nous-m\u00eames sur le visage de l&#8217;autre. Nous n&#8217;aimons pas seulement la personne. Nous aimons tr\u00e8s souvent cet \u00e9tat dans lequel elle nous plonge. Nous n&#8217;aimons pas elle-m\u00eame, mais la lumi\u00e8re qui s&#8217;est soudainement allum\u00e9e pr\u00e8s d&#8217;elle ; nous aimons notre \u00e9trange reviviscence en sa pr\u00e9sence\u2026 Combien de fois notre amour cache des attentes pour que les personnes correspondent aux r\u00f4les que nous leur avons si soigneusement dessin\u00e9s. Nous appelons cela la vision de l&#8217;autre, bien que souvent ce ne soit qu&#8217;une forme raffin\u00e9e de contempler soi-m\u00eame \u00e0 la lumi\u00e8re de l&#8217;autre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous entrons dans les relations souvent aveugl\u00e9s \u00e0 ce que nous sommes vraiment. L\u2019autre personne repr\u00e9sente \u00e9galement un myst\u00e8re pour nous. Dans cet art d\u2019aimer si sublime et d\u00e9licat nous avons besoin d\u2019\u00eatre \u00e9clair\u00e9s et guid\u00e9s par quelqu\u2019un qui sait aimer vraiment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans son commandement, le Christ dit&nbsp;: \u00ab Aimez-vous les uns les autres, comme je vous ai aim\u00e9s. \u00bb Voici le crit\u00e8re juste d\u2019amour&nbsp;: \u00ab&nbsp;Comme je vous ai aim\u00e9s. Il n\u2019y a pas de plus grand amour que de donner sa vie pour ceux qu\u2019on aime&nbsp;\u00bb. Pour donner sa vie pour quelqu\u2019un, il faut voir en lui un tr\u00e9sor cach\u00e9, sa valeur pr\u00e9cieuse. Il faut voir l\u2019autre dans la v\u00e9rit\u00e9 r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9e par Dieu, tel qu\u2019il est dans les yeux de Dieu&nbsp;: l\u2019\u00eatre pour lequel \u00abIl n\u2019a pas \u00e9pargn\u00e9 son propre Fils\u00bb (Rom 8, 32).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aimer, c\u2019est se donner en toute libert\u00e9. D\u2019ailleurs le don de la libert\u00e9 nous est donn\u00e9 pour que nous puissions aimer. Dans ce don, il y a l\u2019abandon de soi-m\u00eame \u00e0 l\u2019autre et en m\u00eame temps l\u2019accueil&nbsp;du don de l\u2019autre. Quand ce don est mutuel, il devient f\u00e9cond pour les deux et se r\u00e9pand sur les autres. Une telle f\u00e9condit\u00e9 est \u00e9galement un signe de v\u00e9ritable amour. Ainsi le Christ est \u00ab&nbsp;la synth\u00e8se vivante et personnelle de la libert\u00e9 parfaite dans l&#8217;ob\u00e9issance totale \u00e0 la volont\u00e9 de Dieu.
