Qu\u2019ils soient un en nous, eux aussi\u2026<\/em> J\u2019\u00e9tais plong\u00e9e dans cette communion fraternelle lors de la soir\u00e9e de graduation de ma fille&nbsp;: cette clart\u00e9 en ma vie. \u00c0 mes c\u00f4t\u00e9s, elle tentait de rep\u00e9rer ses amis dans la foule alors que je guettais les signes de Sa pr\u00e9sence au sein de tous ces pr\u00e9sents que formaient ces enfants criant leur joie. Un mortier port\u00e9 par une jeune femme au regard charg\u00e9 de cette innocence que, comme parents, nous tentons farouchement de pr\u00e9server arborait la mention <em>\u00c0 la gr\u00e2ce de Dieu<\/em>. Un gar\u00e7on aux lunettes trop grandes lui glissant sur le nez se frottait les quelques poils d\u2019une barbe \u00e0 venir. Il nous confessa son d\u00e9sir ardent de faire du chant au grand dam de ses parents. Ces derniers, centr\u00e9s sur leur manque, ancr\u00e9s dans leur ins\u00e9curit\u00e9, incapables d\u2019accepter un fils artiste qui recherchait leur reconnaissance, lui coupaient sans cesse la parole, balayaient sa qu\u00eate pour la r\u00e9duire \u00e0 une voix hors-champ. Il se mit alors \u00e0 chanter, les anges nous ont effleur\u00e9s. Puis, devant un stationnement, nous rencontr\u00e2mes un p\u00e8re, jurant avec joie en contemplant \u00e9merveill\u00e9, sa fille gradu\u00e9e, tatou\u00e9e et perc\u00e9e du sourcil jusqu\u2019au nombril. Appelons-le Mario. Mario me prend le bras, \u00ab&nbsp;c\u2019est toi la m\u00e8re de Clart\u00e9?&nbsp;\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sans attendre de r\u00e9ponse de ma part, il me raconte vivre sur du temps emprunt\u00e9 depuis qu\u2019il est aux prises avec les s\u00e9quelles des vaccins re\u00e7us contre le coronavirus. Devant s\u00e9journer une semaine par mois \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pital pour recevoir des traitements contre une affection rare des muscles, depuis les yeux jusqu\u2019aux poumons, il fut r\u00e9anim\u00e9 \u00e0 deux reprises. Je le contemplais \u00e9merveill\u00e9e, ne pouvant m\u2019emp\u00eacher de ressentir une joie intense que j\u2019estimais franchement mal venue et d\u00e9plac\u00e9e. Au tragique de son existence, je r\u00e9pondais par un sourire irr\u00e9pressible, je me sentais choy\u00e9e, presque malgr\u00e9 moi, d\u2019accueillir son t\u00e9moignage de vie emprunt\u00e9e, de le contempler en train de savourer la graduation de sa fille. Je l\u2019informai que j\u2019allais prier pour lui, il me reprit le bras, le serra&nbsp;: \u00ab&nbsp;Ah mais je ne suis pas croyant, pas avec ce qui m\u2019est arriv\u00e9!&nbsp;\u00bb Je haussai les \u00e9paules, conservant intact mon sourire, il s\u2019empressa d\u2019ajouter&nbsp;:&nbsp;\u00ab&nbsp;Je ne crois pas en Dieu, mais ce n\u2019est pas grave, tu peux prier pour moi si tu veux, pis je te regarde et je sais que tu vas le faire&nbsp;\u00bb. &nbsp;Fixant le sol, laissant mon bras&nbsp;: \u00ab&nbsp;Mais je crois peut-\u00eatre en l\u2019\u00e9nergie, comme celle que tu m\u2019envoie, l\u00e0 l\u00e0. Je te remercie. Je suis vraiment chanceux&nbsp;\u00bb. Puis il quitta, jurant \u00e0 nouveau avec joie, tenant sa fille par la main tout en lui rappelant qu\u2019il l\u2019aimait de tout son amour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>L\u2019\u00e9merveillement qui est le sourire emprunt\u00e9 aux anges ne provenait pas de moi. Pas plus que je n\u2019\u00e9tais l\u2019origine de cette joie en guise de r\u00e9ponse au tragique. \u00c9merveillement et joie se sont tous deux offerts, malgr\u00e9 moi, \u00e0 cet homme vivant malgr\u00e9 tout. Alors que je trouvais ma r\u00e9action inappropri\u00e9e, Dieu n\u2019en avait que faire, il a emprunt\u00e9 mon temps, mes yeux et mon c\u0153ur pour se donner \u00e9nergiquement et toucher ce p\u00e8re amoureusement.
